Disaster Recovery Mirroring System (D.R.M.S.)

DRMS, specifically designed for Stratus Computer networks, provides complete, real-time data mirroring allowing rapid and reliable application recovery. Secondary databases at the Recovery site are always identical to the ones at the primary location.

Spider: WEB/GUI Access to Legacy VOS/FMS Applications

Spider dynamically converts existing FMS-based applications to support modern GUI clients such as Netscape or I-Explorer. This is the easiest, most effective and cost justified method of web-enabling Stratus applications while retaining business logic and past investment in VOS software.

SourceVault

SourceVault is a complete, integrated package designed to monitor and control all software development phases by managing centralized, by-project repositories of source code files. SourceVault manages all software evolution and revisions and assures the reliability, maintainability and stability of applications.

Maestro: WEB-based VOS Operations

Maestro is a complete, integrated environment for VOS operations. Built on Spider, Maestro offers performance data, disk space utilization, processes, queues and syserr-log data. Maestro also includes a new GUI interface to "legacy" SPS applications: SPS/Alert Manager, SPS/Menu and SPS/Scheduler.

SPS/Application Scheduler and Monitor (PCS)

PCS is a complete, integrated package designed to control and monitor all applications running on the system. The Monitor automates all application startups, shutdowns and recovery procedures based on predefined time schedules. SPS allows complete automation of batch cycles and keeps on-line applications up and running at all times. Single-point control of operations at all application levels minimizes risk of human error and prevents production disasters.

SPS/Logs and Alert Manager System (LAMS)

LAMS monitors all system resources, reads messages originating from various systems, modules and applications and funnels the information to any terminal. Message filters assure that only important information is passed to the operator. Critical alerts cannot be ignored; messages will remain posted on the screen until the problem is attended to, acknowledged and given a proper entry by the operator. The Manager automatically executes user-defined recovery and corrective procedures and submits critical information to selected terminals, pagers (numeric & text), E-Mail users or other presentation platforms such as NETVIEW. The product also includes the SPS/VOS Internet Gateway (VIG). VIG is a TCP-IP based gateway between any remote Host or Client platform/application and the Stratus. VIG provides full access to existing legacy Stratus applications via standard VOS queues (one & two way queues) to the outside world (Unix, NT, Mainframe etc.)

SPS/Menu System

SPS/Menu System organizes applications into concise, professional and user friendly interfaces. Creating menus is a simple procedure; it takes minutes to complete thereby saving time and money and helping meet development deadlines. SPS/Menu requires no FMS work and no programming and therefore does not require any Stratus expertise. The system greatly enhances system security by adjusting and generating menus on a per-user basis according to the individual's security profile. Furthermore, any item or submenu may be password-protected. The solution provides complete audit trail logs of all system and operator activities including security violation attempts detailing commands executed, user names and the time of execution.

SPS/Performance Monitors

SPS/Performance Monitors address all aspects of system performance: capacity planning, current and historical data reporting, quick on-line troubleshooting and system-level alert handling. SPS Monitors help identify which process or application is "killing" the system and resolve potential problems ahead of time to allow more accurate capacity planning. SPS provides an on-line graphic representation of system's resource consumption. It captures and calculates system utilization data based on configurable combinations of groups, users and processes. The product is user-friendly, its reports and graphs are easy to interpret. The reporting facility allows the user to examine historical data in On-line Playback Mode and to download report files into spreadsheet applications. SPS also features a system wide Analyze System Server process that reduces the overhead associated with the analyze_system subsystem and allows users to extract periodically and log any set of benchmark values.

SPS/VOS Security Shell (VSS)

VSS boosts productivity and enhances system security. The Shell eliminates unrestricted access to VOS and greatly enhances operators' and developers' productivity. Any operator, even with no Stratus experience, can become proficient and operate the system safely. The SPS/Security Shell is an indispensable environment for any mainframe trained personnel.

SPS/Disk Space Monitor (DSW)

DSW resolves two common and serious problems. The first is the ongoing struggle to control and manage the amount of valuable disk space consumed by each application, user or group of users. The second is the ability to detect quickly and to correct automatically conditions of insufficient free space which may cripple the system, cause critical applications to fail and create production disasters.

SoftTerm - Terminal Emulation for VOS

SoftTerm is a 32-bit (Win95/NT) terminal emulator designed for use with Stratus/VOS as a host using the ever-popular pc-connect (host_pc1) emulation and keyboard mapping. SoftTerm requires no special software/servers on the Stratus and supports telnet, direct and remote dialup connections.
